Friends of the Bagpipe Museum

The mailing list.

An internet mailing list has been established at

museumfriends@nspipes.co.uk

It is a 'closed' list which means that only subscribers may post to the list. This is mainly to avoid nuisance and SPAM postings. It has been setup on our own business website and we are using the mailing software our provider offers. This means that you need to :
  1. visit the registration website to provide your e-mail details.
  2. respond to an e-mail requiring confirmation.
If you do not respond to the confirmation e-mail  automatically generated  by the mailing list :
  1.  you will not be subscribed to the list - (and)
  2.  the list-owner (that's me) will have no idea you wish to join
The computer-aware surfer might very logically attempt to send a 'SUBSCRIBE'  message to the list, but this only generates a message to me saying that an illegal posting has occurred. I have been responding to these messages by subscribing the authors manually. If you have any difficulties  with the registration procedure please e-mail me Barry.Say@nspipes.co.uk

The mailing-list is a forerunner of the 'Friends' organisation and is a bit like an extended public meeting.

At the moment we need
  1.  lots of potential subscribers who are willing to give a relatively small donation to prove their commitment to a bagpipe museum. This will give us leverage with the council.
  2. a pool of talent from which we can elect the administrators.
  3. ideas which will promote the bagpipe museum, within  the piping community and to the wider populace.
For the moment, I will attempt to ensure that there is a message to the list at least twice a week, so if you hear nothing  within a week, please e-mail me at  Barry.Say@nspipes.co.uk
