MAILING LIST for NORTHUMBRIAN PIPERS

A mailing list for Northumbrian Pipers exists, run from a site in Dartmouth, New Hampshire. (thank you to Wayne Cripps who maintains it). It has been running for about 8 years, and has many subscribers worldwide, including several well known pipers and pipemakers, and an assortment of other experts.

The number of posts varies wildly from none in a week to about 10 a day when several subjects of interest come up at once.

To subscribe, send a message to nsp-request@cs.dartmouth.edu with the word subscribe as the title, and also as the only word in the body of the message. (and to unsubscribe....it should be obvious...)

In the time the list has been going, we have covered a number of subjects of general interest, some of which, up to 1999 are summarised below.
This is not an FAQ, nor an archive, but a collection of the personal opinions of the various contributors, on aspects of pipes and piping.  It has been edited by this Web site maintainer from the E-mail postings, and the aim has been to obtain a consistent 'story' throughout each subject. The editor does not necessarily agree with the opinions expressed.
As new subjects are discussed, new sections will be added - at least thats the idea..

and a whole collection of intertwined threads of various aspects of Northumbrian piping history:
