David normally works in blackwood and brass; prices for silver, and other special requirements are available on application. He makes sets in 'F' and D pitch, and regards the pipes of Robert Reid (c.1820) as his principal stylistic influence.
He will repair and refurbish pipes, and is also a supplier of chanter reeds and cane drone reeds. He also has sets for hire, with tuition if required.
He has been making Northumbrian smallpipes for 25 years, and they constitute all of his business, though he will also make 'half-longs etc'.
He is currently accepting orders, and delivery time is about 6-7 months, or by arrangement. No deposit is required, payment is on completion /collection. He has special arrangements for overseas customers, and is happy to discuss customers needs to ensure that they purchase the correct instrument.
