Colin makes sets in 'F', G and D, and will work with all materials. His principal influence was Robert Reid, the 19th century pipemaker. He will sometimes repair and refurbish pipes (when time permits, - please enquire for details), and usually has sets available for hire. He is a registered silversmith. He currently has a limited supply of ivory suitable for pipes.
He has been making Northumbrian smallpipes for 38 years, turning professional in 1978, and these constitute most of his business. He also makes Scottish smallpipes in D, C, Bb, and A; and Lowland or half-longs in G, A and Bb.
His order book is currently full. No deposit is required on future orders - payment is on completion, before delivery.
He also supplies chanter reeds (£15.00 each), and drone reeds with brass bodies and cane tongues (£10.00 each). He occasionally has secondhand sets, of various makes, for sale.
