NORTHUMBRIAN SMALLPIPE MAKERS
This list was originally compiled from information supplied by the
makers
themselves, in January-February 1996. At this time web access was not
so
common, particularly in the UK, and it was felt that a series of
factual
pages enabling basic comparison between makers would be helpful.
The following list is not synonymous
with the list of recommended pipemakers maintained by the Northumbrian
Pipers Society, (copies of which may be obtained from the
secretary)
- inclusion here is purely at the makers request.
Although most makers are now online, and many have their own websites
(which are available as links), the 'comparison' pages have been
retained,
mostly in an updated form. The date of the information relating to each
maker appears on their page - but as a guide, if the name at the top of
the page is in black, the page contains 1996 information; if in colour,
its 1999 or later.
The prices are all in pounds sterling unless otherwise stated - they
are intended as guides only. They
may
or may not include pipe cases,
and usually do not include delivery.
Please check with the individual maker
before ordering. To the best of my knowledge, none of the
makers
accepts credit cards, unless otherwise stated.
Potential customers are strongly recommended to discuss their needs
with other pipers, and then the exact details with the makers. No
guarantees
can be given as to the continuing accuracy of the information printed
here.
