Competitions

Competitions tend to be part of traditional music festivals or gatherings, with competitions for many instruments, as well as concerts, sessions, craft fairs etc.
Morpeth gathering (April)

Rothbury (July)

Bellingham (August)
Bellingham is part of the local agricultural show, and is historically one of the more prestigious competitions. Organised in association with the NPS. Phone: Gwennie Fraser (01434  220647)
NPS (October)
The NPS competitions are held  on the 3rd Saturday in October, but something is usually arranged for the evening as well. Contact the NPS secretary
Alnwick (November)
Part of the Alnwick gathering, with concerts and dances as well, at various venues. Contact: Alnwick Pipers Society

The London Northumbrian Pipers Group meet on the first Wednesday of each month at The Calthorpe Arms.

This is at the junction of Grays Inn Road and Wren Street, midway between Kings Cross, Russell Square, and Chancery Lane underground stations.
